UNITED THANK OFFERING
BLUE BOXES AND BLUE ENVELOPES
“Little drops of water, little grains of sand make the mighty ocean and the pleasant land”… children’s nursery rhyme.
Using Blue Boxes in homes throughout the year is an old tradition of offering thanks for daily blessings. Every penny collected in the parishes of our diocese, combined with those from other dioceses goes toward changing lives here in Pittsburgh and around the world. Because of its missionary nature, all UTO collections are awarded in grants to help others in need. None is used for administrative purposes.
The UTO collection date is up to the individual parish. Blue envelopes are available for those collection Sundays. The combined collection is then usually presented in an envelope with the parish name on it.
Representatives from each parish are welcome to take part in the procession at the UTO InGathering. Those from parishes that have taken their UTO collection by that date, carry their envelopes to be combined with others in the diocese. Those whose UTO collections are collected later usually process with envelopes that contain a note of when they believe they’ll send their collection to the diocesan UTO coordinator. As already stated, ALL parishes are welcome to take part.
If you would like free Blue Boxes and/or Blue UTO collection envelopes mailed to yourself and/or your parish, you can order them directly at http://episcopalmarketplace.org/Products/United-Thank-Offering If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, and God bless you.
