Dear Friends,
Christmas is here once again, reminding us that God’s promise of sending a Savior to the world has been fulfilled. Yet, in the midst of the joys and the beauty of Christmas, the world continues to unconsciously cry out for the fullness of God’s salvation to be realized. But these ancient words spoken by Isaiah (9:6-7) resonate with power and invite us to firmly anchor our hope on the One foretold by this statement and promise:
For a child has been born for us,
a son given to us;
authority rests upon his shoulders;
and he is named
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
His authority shall grow continually,
and there shall be endless peace
for the throne of David and his kingdom.
He will establish and uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time onward and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
May your hearts abound with hope, peace, joy, and love, and may God’s blessing rest upon you and your loved ones this Christmas and always.
