Marlene Rihn has worked for the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh since March 2010. She holds a B.A. in Business/Human Resource Management from Geneva College. Prior to joining diocesan staff, Marlene worked in the bodily injury claims department at State Farm Insurance. She left that career in 1997 to raise her children.
Marlene is a long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plum Borough, where she taught third-grade CCD and worked with the elementary school children at Vacation Bible School. She also is on the “New-2-U” Committee for the church’s family festival.
Marlene and her husband Vince have lived in Plum Borough for more than 25 years. Vince operates a third-generation carpentry business, EJ Rihn Contractors, which was started by his grandfather. Marlene and Vince have three children: Matthew, a Penn State student in the Information Systems Technology/Security Risk Analysis program; McKenzie, who is studying early childhood education/special ed at Indiana University of Pennsylvania; and Michael, a high school student.
Responsibilities…
- Maintains and updates financial accounts using QuickBooks accounting software.
- Processes monthly payroll for the diocese and a number of small- to medium-size parishes.
- Maintains financial accounts for several small parishes.
