Phantom Of The Opera Comes To Trinity Cathedral

On Friday evening, October 30th at 7:30 p.m., Trinity Cathedral plans a special treat to thrill both young and old on the eve of Halloween — a showing of the classic 1925 silent movie, “The Phantom of the Opera”.

The film which stars Lon Chaney, Sr. will be accompanied by the famed Baltimore organist Michael Britt on Trinity’s 92-rank Moller organ. Known for his stellar performances, Mr. Britt is in demand throughout the country as a silent film accompanist, most recently performing for the Region III-American Guild of Organists convention in Baltimore. He has been featured on Maryland Public Television and has performed in numerous well-known theatres throughout the eastern U.S. In 2002, Michael was invited to Princeton University to accompany the silent film classic, “Phantom of the Opera” at the University Chapel where recently he completed his third performance of this annual event.

The film presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be available before and after the show. Tours of the graveyard will also be offered after the performance, weather permitting.

A donation of $10 per person, $20 per family is suggested. This evening of entertainment is sponsored by Trinity’s Music Guild, who encourage you to invite your friends and neighbors to attend.
