I am pleased to announce that the Love+Teach+Heal Leadership Academy is ready to launch and will meet beginning the second week of January!
As you are aware, the Love+Teach+Heal Academy is a diocesan-wide initiative designed to raise up lay leadership from each parish and equip them with deeper formation so that together with their home congregation, they can confidently imagine, develop, and lead new ministries. We also hope that many will become licensed lay leaders who can assist as needed and potentially lead some of the liturgical life of the diocese. The Leadership Academy is designed to complement and extend the excellent ministries currently at work in the diocese.
The four groups will meet in geographically strategic locations. If one date and time combination does not work for you, please feel free to meet at another one our locations.
- South Hills – St. David’s, Peters Twp. – Tuesdays, 7-9 PM (beginning Jan. 8)
- North Hills – St. Brendan’s, Franklin Park – Tuesdays, 7-9 PM (beginning Jan. 15)
- Central/East – Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Highland Park – Wednesdays, 9:30-11:30 AM (beginning Jan. 9)
*meeting in the Seminary Library in the Truxall Classroom on the Second Floor - Far East – St. Mark’s, Johnstown – Mondays, 9:30-11:30 AM (beginning Jan. 7)
So far, more than thirty people have registered for this groundbreaking opportunity to build up our lay leadership. If you are interested in participating and have not registered yet, you are welcome to do so and appear at one of the above group meetings. Registration and more information is available via a link on the diocesan website (https://www.episcopalpgh.org/love-teach-heal-leadership-academy/). If you have any difficulty finding the form, please email Canon Natalie Hall at nhall@episcopalpgh.org
Please join me in praying for this exciting new beginning in the life of our Diocese.
Faithfully your bishop,
(The Right Reverend) Dorsey W.M. McConnell, D.D.
VIII Bishop of Pittsburgh
