Dear Friends in Christ,
One of my great joys as your bishop is the time I get to spend in your parishes and communities, seeing the life of your congregations, hearing the stories of your mission and ministry. From week to week I am privileged to move from neighborhood to neighborhood, and as I do so a composite picture of the whole life of our diocese takes shape in my mind. When I pray for you, my prayer is not only for each local expression of the Gospel, but for your part in the whole fabric of the Body of Christ, and for all the needs and all the blessings we hold in common as we seek to love, teach and heal in the name of Jesus Christ.
As part of my address at our upcoming Diocesan Convention on November 9 and 10, I would like to give an overview of our life together, through images which I hope you will supply. Please select two or three photographs from any aspect of your community’s witness to Jesus Christ in the past year, and send them (with a brief description) to me at life@episcopalpgh.org by Noon on November 5. I will work with diocesan staff to include them as part of a visual background for our gathering next month.
I look forward very much to reviewing what you send! In the meantime, please know you are always in my prayers.
