Roles and Responsibilities of Diocesan Staff
Executive Assistant – Andrea Rath
- Provides administrative support to Bishop and other staff, including helping to manage the Bishop’s calendar.
- Provides administrative support to governing bodies and committees as needed, particularly the Commission on Ministry.
- Responds to requests for various forms of information and assistance from clergy, lay leaders, and other dioceses.

Canon to the Ordinary – The Reverend Kimberly Karashin
- Serves as the bishop’s chief assistant in the oversight of the diocese and the diocesan staff.
- Assists the bishop in the support and care of diocesan clergy.
- Provides support, resources, and insight to help clergy and lay leaders, parishes, and ministries to flourish, both spiritually and missionally, with a particular emphasis on the support of small parishes.
- Serves as the Diocesan Transition Minister, overseeing ministry transitions, clergy placement and deployment, and general personnel matters. Helps to ensure that both clergy and congregations continue to thrive throughout and beyond a period of transition.

Treasurer and Director of Administration – Elaine Zevkovich
- Directs the financial affairs of the diocese.
- Responsible for diocesan audit preparation and financial systems/reporting, including the budget, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, endowment fund accounting, and payroll.
- Serves as diocesan staff liaison to the Board of Trustees and Diocesan Council.
- Assists parishes with financial matters, including payroll, budgeting, and investments.
- Oversees parish audits, and reviews financial statistics included in parochial reports.

Director of Communication and Technology– Andy Muhl
- Prepares and distributes materials related to the annual diocesan convention.
- Designs, manages, and edits content of diocesan website(s) and e-newsletters.
- Provides media production services (photo, audio, video) for diocesan communications and technical and staging support for diocesan events.
- Manages many of the diocesan IT services.

Financial Assistant & Property Administrator – Marlene Rihn
- Maintains and updates financial accounts using QuickBooks accounting software.
- Processes monthly payroll for the diocese and a number of small- to medium-size parishes.
- Maintains financial accounts for several small parishes.

Episcopal University Chaplain – The Reverend Dan Isadore
- Conducts Bible studies for students and others on the campuses of Chatham University and The University of Pittsburgh (Pitt).
- Provides one-on-one mentoring to students at Chatham and Pitt.
- Leads a monthly home Eucharist (called “Zoe,” the Greek word for “Life”) for students and young adults.
- Continuously pursues further opportunities to share the Gospel with university students and others in an effective, relatable manner.
