St. Paul’s gained sole use of the building in 1835.  They enjoyed it for only 10 years. The Rev. William Hilton, noted in 1846 parochial report that his work in Armstrong County had been greatly disrupted by the tornado which destroyed St. Paul’s on 21 July 1845
