The St. Barnabas vestry decided that they should start planning for a new church, built on higher ground. They put aside part of the flood relief funds for building a new church complex. They did make basic repairs and replace their organ, but they began looking for a site closer to where many of their members lived. World War II and the need to raise funds delayed their plans.
