Doddridge's Grave in W. Virginia
1810 Spring
Episcopal Clergy neeting at St. Thomas Parish, Washington County, resolve to have Doddridge write Bishop White about the need for an episcopacy in the west. Doddridge moved around the frontier, serving in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. His was the strongest voice in the region asking for a bishop.
