The general meeting of parishes in Pennsylvania appoints a standing committee of laymen and clergy to communicate with Episcopalians elsewhere, and calls for a preliminary meeting in New York, since organizing as a church is a task larger than should be undertaken by a single state.

The meeting in New York is attended by sixteen clergy and eleven laymen from seven states. They call for a General Convention to be held in September 1785.
