The archives of the Episcopal Diocese contain the official records of the diocese since its formation in 1865, including papers of the bishops, convention records, diocesan newsletters, and minutes and records of the Standing Committee, Board of Trustees, and Diocesan Council. The diocesan collection also contains records from diocesan committees and commissions; related institutions such as the Church Home, Women's Auxiliary, and Prayer Book Society; the office departments; some records compiled by laity who were long active in the diocese; and numerous photographs. The collection includes the records of closed parishes and files on active parishes, and a small library of materials compiled by members of the diocese and pertinent to the diocese. The parish records date back to the late 18th century when this region was part of the Diocese of Pennsylvania. The archives also serves as custodian of the records of Trinity Cathedral.
