Dear Friends,
As you know, we moved the diocesan offices back to Trinity Cathedral over the summer. I could not be happier to be here. It's an easy bus ride from my house in Edgewood. The renovations have turned the third floor into a warm and congenial space, and even though the pictures are not yet up on the walls, it already feels like home. Best of all is being part of the life of this historic Cathedral parish as they take the next steps in rebuilding their community.
I'd like to invite your partnership in the life of your Cathedral in two ways.
First, the Trinity Cathedral Altar Guild is asking that all altar guilds throughout the diocese consider partnering with their small guild to bolster their roster of volunteers who provide coverage for in excess of 365 services throughout the year. Training will gladly be provided for anybody wishing to serve at the Cathedral altars.
Second, the Cathedral is seeking memorial donations for flowers in the Chapel or at the High Altar. Please consider sponsoring flowers on a given Sunday in memory of a loved one or in honor of someone special in your life.
If you would like to take advantage of either of these opportunities, please be in touch with Priscilla Castner at 412-741-8848.
Finally, I am very happy that the Very Reverend Scott Quinn will begin full-time ministry as the Cathedral's Interim Dean as of October 1. Please join me in celebrating this new phase of Scott's long service in this diocese.
Please keep Trinity in your prayers as together we respond to the opportunities God puts in our path to bear witness to the Gospel in the City of Pittsburgh and in the wider Church.
Faithfully your bishop,
(The Rt. Rev.) Dorsey McConnell
