Dear Sisters, Brothers & Siblings in Christ,
On behalf of the Transition Committee of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, we want to, once again, invite you to attend the ordination and consecration of the Rev. Dr. Ketlen A. Solak as the IX Bishop of Pittsburgh.
This glorious service presided over by The Most Reverend Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, at Calvary Episcopal Church, 315 Shady Avenue, East Liberty!
Admission is by ticket only, but everyone is welcome to apply for a ticket. Whether you are attending as a guest or are in the service itself (i.e., clergy, choir, lay leaders, etc.), you must fill out this form with proof of vaccination as soon as possible. Those correctly registered will receive a ticket via email a few days before the service.
Because of Covid, all those at Calvary for this service must be vaccinated (if eligible for vaccination) and masked inside the church. Depending on the pandemic’s status in mid-November, we will adjust seating which could limit attendance. Please understand the difficult circumstances under which we are operating, but God willing, we will try to accommodate everyone.
The ordination/consecration of a new bishop generally takes at least two hours and will be followed by a reception at Calvary with Ketlen+ for you to greet her. This service will also be live-streamed, so you can join us in real time on your devices if you are unable or prefer not to attend in person.
On Sunday, November 14, at 10:30 a.m., we hope you will join us when Bishop Solak will be officially “seated” at Trinity Cathedral, 328 Sixth Avenue, Downtown. Everyone is invited and no tickets are necessary, but vaccination and masking are required. Following the service, there will be a reception at Trinity with +Ketlen to conclude this great weekend! Please come join us!
If you are interested in volunteering to help in the consecration service at Calvary, please fill out the Volunteer Form that is located here. Even if you volunteer, you still must also complete the Invitation form here for a ticket to the service.
If you have any questions at all, feel free to check out our webpage here or email us at transition@episcopalpgh.org, but please use the invitation form here to request a ticket for the consecration service. Thank you for your prayers for our new bishop and all involved in welcoming her to Pittsburgh! This is a great time to be an Episcopalian in Pittsburgh!
Yours in Faith,
