St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Oakmont is holding a Mardi Gras Jambalaya Dinner on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Proceeds from this dinner will go to Annunciation Mission, an Episcopal ministry based in New Orleans dedicated to rebuilding and restoring New Orleans.

St. Thomas Church has sent four mission teams to work with Annunciation Mission since 2006. "Even though you don’t hear much about New Orleans in the news these days, there is still a lot of work to be done," says Father Jeffrey Murph, rector of St. Thomas who recently returned from a mission trip to New Orleans. "We are delighted to celebrate Mardi Gras with our community while benefiting our friends in New Orleans."

The cost of the dinner is $8 for adults, $6 for children and $25 for a family. Take out will be available. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling the church office at 412-828-9680 and can also be purchased at the door.
St. Thomas is located at the corner of Delaware Avenue and Fourth Street in Oakmont.
