First, let us thank you for all your prayers and support for our annual trip to Hoima Uganda to serve the children of the Mustard Seed Babies’ Home (MSBH).
Let me summarize our trip briefly here…. an exchange of love!
Matthew 18:2-4 comes to mind
"And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
OK, perhaps we have not traveled as far as Heaven… but pretty close!
VBS with the little ones was great. We studied Moses. We connected Moses' story of being orphaned to the kids own stories of being orphaned. RESCUED.
God remembered His people Israel just like He has remembered the children of the MSBH. REMEMBERED.
Moses became a great leader saving his people. We today are called to good things in Jesus, NOT FORGOTTEN.
Rescued, Remembered, Not forgotten is the story and theme of 20 years of the MSBH.
Healing the Orphan Heart for the children 13 and older went very well. Three Hope Fellowship Groups were formed to support them in their healing and spiritual growth. The Uganda Christian University Hope Fellowship Team has committed to follow up and disciple the groups. Sharing ministry with the UCU Team was a highlight for the MOH 14 Team and for the children.
Many of our children are now resettled with their families in their towns or villages.
We traveled to see 7 of them which live in the outlying areas.
It has been a challenge to the staff and children of the MSBH and big adjustments for the families. BUT it is working! A fantastic job is being done by all.
The partnership of Rescue, Remember and Not Forgotten extends to include not only the Mustard Seed Project, Help Hoima, and the Bunyoro-Kitara Diocese in Uganda, but also to the families of the children.
Our "mission" is far from over, but I see a completion of sorts… like the completion of a perfect circle. Many Christians, working together from around the world to Rescue, Remember and Never Forget the little ones that a harsh world tries to hurt.
Jesus Christ is alive and well here in Hoima Uganda and at the MSBH. It only takes a single candle to break the darkness. Thank you to all sponsors and helpers of MOH 2014.
Pray with me that one day the MSBH will no longer be needed. That the Mustard Seed of faith cast the Mountain of orphaning (physical and spiritual) into the sea!!!
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
May God Bless Us All!
