Jane Banning, our special guest speaker, brings with her a history of involvement in church leadership spanning more than two decades, and an impressive record of service to Episcopal women through ECW, the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Province III, and the Episcopal Church. A current resident of Philadelphia, Jane Banning's activities have ranged from parish ministries to national and provincial offices since 1987. During her term as National ECW President from 1987-2000, she also served on Province III Synod Council, and she continues provincial work as presenter and trainer. As a member of the General Convention, she sat on the Committee on the Status of Women, and in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, she served as ECW President and was a member of the Diocesan Council, the Commission on Anti-Racism, and other diocesan committees.
The mission of the United Thank Offering (“UTO”) is to encourage daily prayers, offerings and awareness of the abundance of God’s blessings. UTO is a spiritual and financial partner in the mission work of The Episcopal Church, founded by and administered by women since 1889.
